Game Review - February 2018 - by Ericca M.

What’s up fellow gamers? Starting this month, I’m changing up the format of the game review and shifting the focus from console games to card games, board games, etc. I wanted to take this time to introduce you guys to a new game that’s currently trending all over social media. It’s also a game that I played more than my share of rounds of over the holidays.

Drunk Uno started trending on Facebook a few months ago. My guess is that whoever came up with this version of Uno was just tired of the same old drinking card games, i.e., Smoke or Fire. (we’ll discuss that next review).

Drunk Uno can be played by three or more players (ideally). And of course, different cards have different meanings.

First, everybody takes a shot as soon as they walk through the door. One person shuffles, the person to the right cuts the deck, and the first person deals to the left. Once everyone has seven cards, the rest are placed in the middle and are to be used as the pull deck.

If someone puts down a draw 2, the next person has to take a shot and draw 2 cards from the pull deck. If someone puts down a draw 4, the next person has to take two shots and draw 4 cards. If you get skipped, you take 1 shot. If a person gets reversed, that person has to take 1 and a half shots. Also, if someone calls a false UNO on accident, they have to take a shot. And finally, the winner of the game gets to pick whichever player they want to take three shots.

Sounds fun but when you’re on the losing end, it’s only fun for a while. Take it from someone who barely had any luck whenever I played with my family members. Needless to say, this game sent me straight home and straight to bed.

My review of this game: It’s a fun and very competitive game. It’s one of those games that makes everyone mad at each other after a while. You should definitely play with caution. Also, I don’t condone drunk driving so make plans to stay wherever you are and wait until morning before attempting to drive anywhere.
